What is InfraGard?
InfraGard is a public-private alliance between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the private sector. 83 of the top 100 firms in the Fortune 500 have an InfraGard representative. The nation’s critical infrastructure systems and services are owned and operated by private industry. Any attempt to harm or destroy these resources would directly impact the security of the United States and its citizens. InfraGard is the critical link that forms tightly-knit working relationships across all stakeholders-including the government, private sector, law enforcement, academic institutions and concerned citizens. By using the talents of expertise of the InfraGard network, information is shared to mitigate threats to our nation’s critical infrastructures and key resources.

Who Joins InfraGard?
An InfraGard Member is private-sector volunteer with an inherent concern for national security. Driven to protect their own industry and motivated to share their professional and personal knowledge to safeguard the country, InfraGard members connect to a national network of Subject Matter experts, communicate with federal law enforcements and government agencies through their local InfraGard chapter and contribute to the security of protection of our national infrastructures from threats and attacks.

Which Critical Infrastructures are addressed in InfraGard?
In 1998, President William J. Clinton issued a presidential directive that established InfraGard. That directive stated in part, "Critical infrastructures are those physical and cyber-based systems essential to the minimum operations of the economy and government. These systems are so vital, that their incapacity or destruction would have a debilitating impact on the defense or economic security of the United States."

The twelve critical infrastructures that comprise the InfraGard network are listed below.
IT and physical security protection professionals from all industries are members of InfraGard as well.
